Oil Filters help extend the life of our automotive engines by keeping motor oil free from sediment.

How do I go green?
Reduce
Walk, cycle, or car pool to cut down on motor oil use. Choose a push mower, which besides reducing motor oil use will exercise your body and reduce noise pollution.
Reuse
It is not recommended to clean and reuse an oil filter, as in all likelihood toxic oil will end up down the drain and contaminate our groundwater. The best way to reuse your oil filter is to recycle it.
Recycle
The recyclers below will accept your spent oil filters. Also check out the BC Used Oil Management Association website for listings of multiple recyclers in your area.

The Environmental Story
The BC Used Oil Management Association levies an Environmental Handling Charge (EHC) on the sale of motor oil filters, motor oil, and motor oil containers to help cover the cost of diverting these potentially toxic items from landfills or even worse, our waterways. Used oil filters will be shredded, heated to a molten state and reused as material in rebar, nails, or wire.
Save the Date!
This year, Hartland Happening is on Sunday June 24th.
10:30 am to 3:00 pm
