You might not have a large amount of this non-ferrous metal in your possession, but that pile of lead sinkers in your unused fishing tackle might actually be worth something.

How do I go green?
Reduce
Some items you buy may contain lead, but can be hard to identify them easily. Trying to reduce the amount of lead you buy is not an easy step, but with a little research, you can identify products or brands using large quantities of lead and avoid them.
Reuse
Bring any products containing lead to a metal recycling facility to be recycled.
Recycle
Ellice recycling and Steel Pacific, among others, will pay for many non-ferrous metals (metals that don’t contain iron, so they aren’t magnetic); call to find out the rates.

The Environmental Story
Bring lead to the proper people so they can collect it, and other valuable metals, for resale. Lead is much more scarce than a metal such as iron, and is thus a sought after product.
Save the Date!
This year, Hartland Happening is on Sunday June 24th.
10:30 am to 3:00 pm
