Beneath us is a solid geoscape of granite, sedimentary and volcanic rock. You don't have to dig much to hit solid rock in the Capital Region, in fact those rocky outcroppings are a distinct part of our gorgeous island landscape.

The Environmental Story

Whether you're removing a rock wall from a garden or have a pile of it from a blasting or demolition job on your property, this solid material has so much potential for further use that it must stay out of the landfill. It's costly both on the pocketbook and the environment to blast for new rock. Since it's such a robust material, many recyclers are keen to reclaim your rock for cleaning, sorting, and stockpiling for use on future building projects or for concrete aggregate.
